As Barry and the team at S.T.A.R. Labs work to capture Kyle Numbus, aka The Mist, a dangerous new meta-human with toxic gas powers, they revisit the painful night the particule accelerator exploded and killed Caitlin's fiance, Ronnie. Meanwhile, Joe decides to finally visit Henry in jail after all these years, but things take a dangerous turn when Kyle shows up looking to punish Joe for arresting him years ago. Meanwhile, Iris and Eddie continue to hide their relationship from Joe.
I don't think Zoom needs Barry to get his powers, because I believe he recreated the experiment by himself in the future. However, in the first comics Dr. Zoom's entire raison d'etre was he was obsessed with his boyhood hero, The Flash, (cas Zoom's from the future). I think he's just showing how obsessed he is. If you think about it, if they are not retconning Dr. Zoom's origin story (which they might), he must already have powers as he time traveled to the present show we are watching. I predict, like the comics, Flash will reject Zoom
and then Zoom will try to kill young Barry Allen, failing, but succeeding in killing his mother.I am not sure about this. It could well be that Wells is Zoom, and that he "protects" Barry only because he wants Barry to suffer very hard some day. If you get what I mean: maybe he doesn't want Barry to die right now because he has some really nasty trap or something even more painful set up for him. Maybe he thinks / he know that he won't exist if Barry doesn't, or something like this. Maybe he would feel betrayed of his revenge if something happened to Barry right now. Who knows what kind of weird logic goes around inside a villain's head. ;)
